VMware Server VMware Tools & X/Ubuntu

  • enable root
  • disable ipv6
  • check gcc is at same version that was used to compile your kernel
  • run vmware-config-tools.pl

If you are using VMware Server on a Wi-Fi notebook remember to use NAT networking instead of bridged networking for your VMs !
